Auvergne is an inviting region and an untouched vacation spot, so the prices are much lower than the rest of France

Auvergne is one of the largest protected nature reserves in Europe.

Vulkanerne i Auvergne  

Auvergne is the volcano center of France. The oldest, larger, volcanos in the south are 12 million vulkanyears old and are found in an exciting area with plateaus, deep gorges, incredible rock formations and authentic ancient villages.  The tallest volcano in the area is Puy de Sancy at 1.886 meters (6,188 feet).

Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park offers many wonderful hiking opportunities in the mountains of Plomb du Cantal, Puy de Dôme og  Puy de Sancy.  The park has a network of hiking trails covering thousands of kilometers through forests, mountains and har et netværk af vandreruter på flere tusind kilometer mellem skove, bjerge og glaciers.

During the winter, all kinds of ski sports are offered in Auvergne: Alpine, Cross Country, Snowboarding, snowshoe hiking and more.

The closest ski resort, Le Lioran, is 80 km (50 miles) from Les Trois Noyers

Auvergne is also Francs second largest spa destination with a large assortment of spas with natural springs.

For families with children, we can mention the amusement and animal park PAL, Vulcania, Volcan de Lemptégy og Electrodrome. And close to Les Trois Noyers, you can enjoy a variety of water sports in the river Gorges ´de Allier.  Also, there is an adventure park only 6 km (4 miles) away.

Auvergnes Specialties 

After hiking through the the hills and mountains of Auvergnes, good food is always welcome.  Auvergne has many delightful cheeses to offer, like Bleu d’Auvergne, Fourme d’Ambert, Saint-Nectaire, Cantal and Salers .ost og pølse - Kopi

Other culinary specialities are found in the local ingredienses, which are used by the approximately 30 Michelin star Restaurants serving for example petit salé with green lentils from Puy, stuffed cabbage, Potée auvergnate and truffade.

Local wines which you might have heard of include Saint-Pourçain, Côtes d’Auvergne og rosé wines from Chanturgu.
